- My 2 meter repeater club has a bunch of bicycle mobile folks.
- They found that the bearings were causing a flux in the SWR which then
- created noise on the HT's they were using. One fix for this problem
- (At least of VHF) was to isolate the antenna from the bike frame,
- many folks mount the antenna to the bike rack which intern is mounted to the
- wheel where the noise get created. I would try out a tuned wire for a ground
- and wrap it around a plastic tube and mount it like a tire pump somewhere on
- the bike. Remember ground is 1/2 your antenna.

- Few people recognize his name today, and even among those who do, the words

-
- The Alternating Current Dynamo upon which American electricity is based.
- This AC system, which won out over Edisons DC system at the first major

-
- The first Solar Cell, the first radio controlled robots, the first

-
- Tad Wises compelling novel resurrects one of the most fascinating fathers of

- OK Scott..but you should use your hose hydrolic pressure to rotate the
- antenna...Water shoots out the ends of the elements...does your lawn..
- improves your grounding...and "Shoots" your signal out with greater
- force in all directions..I think its called the "AquaPlane" antenna...
-
- No Really...Ill give up my own un-patented fleshing out of your idea
- right here..right now. (someone will grab this and run with it)
- You take your computer controlled phased array verticals...use them as
- a repeater RX antenna (omni on TX) Upon lack of signals..the processor
- rapidly rotates the array with PIN diodes at 20RPM or more..When a signal
- is encountered, the array Auto optimizes the incoming signal by looking
- at a digitized AGC reading and stores its heading. It also tags the
- signal by storing either a value representing its exact frequency
- (discriminator output) or uses a TX fingerprint program on a soundblaster
- card. The controller then accumulates all the stations positions and
- starts rotating rapidly..only to those positions...continually auto
- optimizing and updating the database. Upon loss of signal for a
- predetermined time...full rotation scan continues.

- Me too. BTW, there is a fair amount of ATV activity in the Portland area. We
- have an ATV repeater on the air with 426.25 MHz input and 1277.25 MHz output.
- There are two scheduled ATV nets every week, Mondays at 7pm and Saturdays at
- 11am. Non-video checkins are welcome on 146.25 MHz (2m simplex).
